Iconic Cycling Events is the specialist cycling division of Breathing Space Activities Ltd.

Breathingspace was founded in 2004 by Richard Best, an outdoors enthusiast. The company has been designing and delivering a range of business improvement, people development and change management programmes for a broad range of clients since. Richard, a keen cyclist, saw the opportunity to enter the cycling market in 2012 with the launch of our first sportive, Bike Bath.

The team at Iconic Cycling Events are an enthusiastic group of individuals who enjoy designing, developing and delivering high quality cycling events around the UK and overseas.

Bike Bath is a cycling sportive starting in the city centre that takes in routes of varying lengths in the countryside surrounding the spa city with routes changing each year. The event is now well-established in the South West of England’s cycling calendar and following its success in 2012 and 2013, Iconic Cycling Events was launched in 2014 with the introduction of the Carter Jonas LandAid Yorkshire Pedalthon and Bike Oxford.

In 2016, Iconic launched Bike Chester and began managing BDOVELO, a cyclist's business networking group, on behalf of the accountancy firm BDO. See the BDOVELO website for further details. In 2018 Iconic took over the management of The Canterbury Bike Ride.

After a hiatus to events during the COVID-19 pandemic, Iconic returned including a number of new events. The Long Ducker Ride was launched in 2020 and in 2021 two new events were added to the Iconic portfolio - Maggie's Everesting Challenge and The Country Constable Sportive.

We specialise in cycling sportives and bespoke events, catering for a wide range of clients. We have more sportives and other brand new cycling projects lined up for the future.
